Flexim Roof Mortar available from Northern Roof Tiles
A Ready-to-Use Flexible Alternative to Traditional Ridge Cement Mortar
Trusted on clay roof installations across the U.S. and Canada since 1997.
Why Choose Flexible Ridge Mortar?
Traditional sand and cement mortar can crack, shrink, and deteriorate over time — especially on clay roof systems exposed to temperature changes.
Flexible ridge mortar provides a modern alternative designed specifically for ridge and hip tile installations.
Ready to use — no on-site mixing
Instantly waterproof after application
Permanently flexible to prevent cracking
Lightweight and easy to handle
Suitable for most U.S. and Canadian climates
Flexible Mortar vs Traditional Cement Ridge Mortar
For decades, ridge and hip tiles have been installed using traditional sand and cement mortar. While it remains common, rigid cement mortar can crack or deteriorate over time — particularly on clay roof systems exposed to temperature changes.
Flexible mortar systems were developed as a modern alternative.
Flexim is commonly used for repairs and securing ridge tiles on both new clay roof installations and reclaimed clay tile roofs.
Traditional Sand & Cement
Requires on-site mixing

Heavier and more labor intensive

Once applied, it becomes instantly waterproof and remains permanently flexible, allowing the roof to expand and contract naturally without cracking.
Also Used by Pest Control Professionals
Flexim is widely used to seal gaps in ridge and hip tile installations, helping prevent birds, rodents, bats, and other wildlife from entering roof spaces.
